🔎 Position Overview

Serac is seeking a Technical Purchaser II to support our manufacturing operations by executing end-to-end purchasing activities for engineered components and production materials.

This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring on-time delivery of parts aligned with MRP requirements and production schedules.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused buyer role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

🏭 Key Responsibilities

• Procure engineered components and production materials per MRP requirements

• Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier quotes, and negotiate pricing and lead times

• Create and manage purchase orders through full lifecycle (placement → expediting → delivery)

• Monitor supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery)

• Collaborate with Engineering to verify drawings, specifications, and BOMs

• Support inventory accuracy and shortage resolution

• Maintain ERP data accuracy (lead times, pricing, supplier info)

• Drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements

✅ Required Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience sourcing parts or components (mechanical, electrical, machined, fabricated, etc.)

• Ability to read and understand basic 2D/3D drawings or BOMs

• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, QAD, NetSuite, etc.)

• Strong supplier communication and negotiation skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

🎓 Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree + 2–4 years manufacturing purchasing experience
  OR

• 5–7 years of practical manufacturing purchasing experience
