Pay Range: $28.41 – $32.60 per hour
Reports To: Mechanical Assembly Supervisor
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to build, assemble, and test mechanical sub-assemblies and complete machines in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production schedules and ensures machines meet quality standards prior to shipment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience assembling industrial or packaging equipment, interpreting blueprints, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Assembly
Assemble mechanical components and full machine assemblies according to engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOM)
Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and standard work instructions
Fabricate and modify basic components as needed
Pneumatics & Installation
Install pneumatic systems and components
Perform equipment setup, alignment, and adjustments
Assist with hydraulic systems when applicable
Testing & Troubleshooting
Conduct timing checks and dynamic machine testing
Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues
Work closely with engineering to resolve build issues
Quality & Documentation
Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards
Document build progress and report defects or incomplete work
Follow safety procedures and 5S standards
Production Support
Assist with machine disassembly for shipping
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or overhead cranes
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
3–5 years of experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment
Experience building or troubleshooting packaging or industrial equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing
Welding experience (MIG/TIG)
Experience with hydraulic systems
Forklift and overhead crane experience
Familiarity with MFG/PRO or ERP systems
