We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to lead electrical design and machine control development for custom and standard packaging machinery. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on PLC programming, electrical schematic design, panel layout development, and machine commissioning.
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, programming, and implementation of electrical hardware and control systems for industrial packaging machinery. This role owns the electrical scope from concept through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and startup support.
The position works closely with Mechanical Engineering, Project Engineering, Automation teams, and SERAC France to ensure all systems meet performance, safety, and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical design from concept through testing and delivery of custom packaging machinery.
Develop and program Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI systems using Rockwell Studio 5000.
Design and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts using EPLAN P8.
Ensure compliance with UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NEC standards.
Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within PLM systems.
Support assembly, integration, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Update electrical documentation following build changes or field modifications.
Serve as the primary electrical contact during machine startup and post-sale support.
Collaborate with global engineering teams to align design standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and machine controls design.
Strong experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000.
Hands-on experience designing electrical schematics and control panels using EPLAN P8.
Working knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NEC.
Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and performing system validation.
Ability to lead electrical projects from design through commissioning.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with B&R or Siemens PLC platforms.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
Familiarity with motion control systems, servo drives, and industrial I/O networks.
Exposure to QAD or SmarTeam systems.
French language skills (not required).
